Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 22, 2026

TLAP ("the App") is operated by Flatland Foundry LLC ("we", "us", "our"). This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Information We Collect

Location Data: TLAP accesses your device's GPS location to provide turn-by-turn truck navigation, route tracking, and "Recalculate from here" functionality. Location data is used in real-time on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

Truck Profile: Vehicle dimensions, weight, axle count, fuel capacity, and VIN-decoded specifications are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. This data is not uploaded to any server.

Trip Data: Origin, destination, stops, BOL information, and optimized route plans are stored locally on your device. Trip data is not transmitted to our servers.

Feedback Submissions: When you voluntarily submit feedback (bug reports, feature requests, route problems, or general feedback), the submission is sent to our server via email. Feedback may include your app version, device model, and a description of the issue. Screenshots are only included if you explicitly attach them.

Camera: TLAP requests camera permission solely for VIN barcode scanning. No photos or video are stored or transmitted.

2. Third-Party Services

TLAP uses the following third-party APIs to provide routing and navigation services:

All API calls to TomTom, HERE, and Mapbox are proxied through our backend server to protect API keys. The server does not log or store your route data.

3. Data Storage

All trip, truck, and route data is stored locally on your device using React Native AsyncStorage. We do not operate a user account system, database, or cloud storage for user data. If you uninstall the app, all local data is permanently deleted.

4. Hours of Service (HOS) Disclaimer

TLAP's Hours of Service clocks are route planning inputs used solely to optimize break and rest stop placement along your route. They do not constitute Records of Duty Status (RODS) and are not transmitted, stored on any server, or shared with any third party. TLAP does not create, maintain, or replace an electronic logging device (ELD) or paper logbook. Drivers must maintain their official HOS records through their ELD or paper logs as required by 49 CFR Part 395. Using TLAP does not constitute maintaining a second set of HOS records.

5. Data We Do NOT Collect

6. Children's Privacy

TLAP is designed for commercial motor vehicle operators (CDL holders) and is not intended for use by children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
